red squirell

The red squirrel (sciurus vulgaris) is the most common squirell in Europe.

During the holidays we rented a small cabine to allow ourselfs a short break. This cabin was situated in the forrest so I set up some feedings stations in the hope to attract local birds and to photograph them.

Different kind of birds found my feeders very quick and over the next couple of days we counted more then 10 differents species who were visiting the feeders regularly.

One our last morning I woke up early to start packing all our stuff, when I suddenly saw this red squirrel on one of my feedingstations; what a surprise! I quickly set up my gear and started shooting. An hour later and leaving almost an empty feeding station the squirrel left and so did we.
